Advice Needed: Ex Lied in Court—How to Handle It in Custody Battle?

Wsp…I’m in the middle of a long custody battle with my ex, who has a history of abuse (he pleaded guilty). He’s been using our son as a means to control and manipulate my life. I recently filed an ex parte motion regarding our parenting plan, and I’ve got solid proof that he lied directly to the judge. The evidence is clear and documented.
Here’s my dilemma:

  • I want to present this evidence to the judge to show that my ex is lying and undermining the court’s proceedings. This could support my claims that he’s not truthful and has made a mockery of the court.
  • I’m concerned about the implications of presenting this evidence, as the punishment for perjury is up to 5 years in prison. He lied in response to a direct yes or no question from the judge.

Additionally, we have a hearing coming up for contempt because he hasn’t followed any of the judge’s orders.

I’m seeking advice on:

  1. How to proceed with presenting the evidence of his lies? What’s the best approach to ensure it’s used effectively in my case?
  2. What potential outcomes should I be prepared for if I present this evidence, considering the serious nature of perjury?
  3. How to handle the contempt hearing in light of his ongoing non-compliance with court orders?

I appreciate any guidance or personal experiences you can share. This situation is incredibly stressful, and I want to make sure I handle it properly. Thanks in advance

If your ex lied in court during a custody battle, gather evidence to refute the lies, consult your attorney, and consider requesting a court order for investigations or depositions.

I had almost the same thing happen to me. In North Carolina, my wife tried to kill me. Even though I was a victim of domestic violence, the case was sent to Pennsylvania, where I got the name. I “exposed my child to domestic violence” and was “involved in a domestic dispute.” The Pennsylvania court had the police report, the 911 call, and the social services report, all of which said that my wife hit me in the face and right wrist with the meat cleaver and then tried to set me on fire. At the time of the event, my wife and her oldest daughter, who wasn’t even in the state, testified in Pennsylvania. I was the one who hurt my partner in this domestic violence event. There was nothing that could be done because, to be honest, judges are very stupid and being stupid is the worst kind of cheating. The person who files the complaint first wins, and if you’re a woman, you probably win. This means that if you’re a woman and you made the complaint first, you can say whatever you want in court, and no one will care.
