Contempt of Court? What can I do about missing parenting time

Is this contempt of court? This is the second time my ex has done this. We have court orders in place that state I get my son every Thursday to Monday morning. I haven’t heard from either of them, and she hasn’t communicated at all about my parenting time. I’m worried she ran off again to another state for vacation while I was supposed to have him. I miss my son! The custody orders are signed by a judge, and according to the plan, she has him this Thanksgiving. I was supposed to get him Friday at 8 am, but it’s been over 24 hours and still no communication.

Yes, it sounds like she’s in contempt of court. You should definitely contact your lawyer about this situation ASAP.

I plan to, but I’m curious if there’s anything I can do right now.

You can try contacting the police, especially since there’s a court order. They may be able to help you locate your son.

I didn’t know the police could help. I’ll consider that.

Document everything! Texts, missed calls, all of it. This will help your case if you need to go back to court.

I have been keeping track. It’s just frustrating not knowing where he is.

If she’s violating the court order, you might have grounds to file for contempt. Your lawyer can guide you on that.

Thanks! I’ll make sure to bring that up with my lawyer.

This is really tough. Just keep pushing for your rights as a parent. You deserve to see your son.

I appreciate the support. I just want to do what’s best for him.
