We are in Oregon. My ex has worked ‘under the table’ for the last 10 years. Our child is 12. He’s only paid $50 payments here and there. He’s a barber, so it was really easy for him to hide the money. Well, now he just opened up a barber shop and is the owner. Can I go after him or am I wasting my time? Thank you in advance.
Have you thought about going to the court to modify the child support order? If he has a business now, that might change things.
You should definitely look into it. Since he’s officially running a business now, you might have a better chance of collecting the owed support.

That makes sense. I didn’t know if it was worth pursuing since he’s been so sneaky about it.
In Oregon, you can definitely go after him. Just make sure to document everything. If he’s hiding income, the court might take that seriously.
It’s tough with people who hide income. Have you tried getting any proof of his earnings? That might help your case.

I haven’t been able to catch him in the act yet, but I’ll keep trying.
Definitely pursue this. He can’t just avoid his responsibilities. Talk to a family law attorney for guidance on how to proceed.

I’ll look into that. I just want to make sure my child gets what they deserve.
