Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out how to file for divorce in Idaho without hiring a lawyer. I really want to avoid those legal fees if I can. If anyone has tips or knows where to find the right forms, I’d appreciate it! Has anyone done this before?
You can definitely do it on your own! Idaho has forms available online that you can fill out.

Check the Idaho Supreme Court website. They usually have all the divorce forms you need.
Make sure you understand the residency requirements too. Idaho has specific rules about that.

Good point! I’ll look into the residency rules before I start the process.
If you and your spouse can agree on things, consider mediation. It can save time and money.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I’d prefer to keep it civil if possible.
Don’t forget to file the papers with the court after you fill them out! That’s super important.

Thanks for the reminder! I’ll make sure to check everything before filing.
You might also want to look into local legal aid services. They can help for free or at a low cost.
