My ex still won’t give my daughter back… another update

I really wish I was here with good news saying my daughter is finally home, but that’s not the case. Things have only gotten worse.

Now, there are new accusations—except they’re the same ones my daughter originally made against my ex’s best friend, but now he’s claiming my husband and I are the ones responsible.

It only took him ten days to coach a four-year-old into changing the story she’s been telling for six months. Instead of letting her be heard and holding the person who hurt her accountable, he’s using this as a way to get what he wants.

He filed restraining orders against my husband and me in Indiana, where they have no idea about the case (which has been handled in Kentucky), so of course, they granted them. Now, we have a lawyer in Indiana fighting to get the cases dismissed or moved to Kentucky, where the courts actually know what’s going on.

CPS in Kentucky isn’t happy that she’s still with him, and they’re seeing through what he’s doing (or at least I really hope so). They tried to place her with my best friend during the investigation, but Indiana CPS refused to take action because they don’t have an open case. Even though Kentucky CPS is pushing for it, Indiana won’t remove her from his home. We’ve been told Kentucky CPS is just waiting on two things before they can move forward, and hopefully, that won’t take long.

A motion has been filed in Kentucky, and we’re going before the judge soon. My lawyer thinks everything will be sorted out by then, and we’ll finally get her back. We’ve also requested that my ex’s visitation be stopped immediately and that we go back to court to set new custody terms.

Sorry it took so long to update. It’s been a mess, and I didn’t have much hope until now. Please keep us in your thoughts—this has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I’m so sorry! I really hope she’s back with you soon.

Update us when you can.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Something similar happened with my son when my ex took him. I had full custody, but the police did nothing. I eventually got him back, but those days were hell.

I know our situations aren’t exactly the same, but I just want you to know I get it. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Please update when you can.

@GraceEmily
It really does feel like an abduction, and he’s just getting away with it by abusing the system. It’s been 25 days since I’ve spoken to my daughter, and I feel like I’m losing my mind.

I just have to believe this won’t happen again once this is over.

When you got your son back, did your ex still have visitation?

@Brooklyn
I really hope you get her back soon. My ex never got visitation again.

I got my son back after two weeks. My ex had been driving all over the country having some kind of breakdown. My son has serious mental health issues, and during those two weeks, he didn’t get his medication even once. He was just trying to keep his dad from completely losing it.

When I finally got him back, I let him stay with his grandparents for a couple of days to decompress before flying home. Even then, he had a breakdown on the plane.

My ex passed away from brain cancer about 10 years ago. It was actually a relief for both of us.

I hope everything works out soon. Keep us posted!

Let us know how it goes. This is awful, but I really believe they’ll see through what he’s doing.

Hoping your daughter is home soon!
