Need help with e-filing… Anyone dealt with this?

I submitted my e-file, but I got a message from the third-party system. Since I’m not in California, I had to do it online, but I don’t understand what they’re asking. I could really use some help.

Get in touch with your JAG office.
Why are you handling the divorce paperwork yourself? You should have legal guidance.

Thanks, I’ll check again.

I reached out to them in California, but they’re taking forever to respond to my emails. That’s why I decided to fill out the paperwork myself. I even went to the court for help, and they assisted me. But after I e-filed, I got that message.

Everything should be in PDF, except for motions. Judges need to be able to edit motions, but other documents shouldn’t be changed. Hope that helps.

I made sure everything is in PDF, but I’m confused about the lead document part. Thanks for the help.

@Owen
Sounds like some files need to be separate, while others should be combined. Just go step by step and follow their instructions. It’s annoying how picky they are—I had a bunch of things sent back for small formatting issues.

@EmmanuelBrown
Got it, thanks!

You really shouldn’t be handling this without a lawyer. You wouldn’t do your own surgery or plumbing—same goes for legal matters.

I know, I just can’t afford an attorney right now.

@Owen
If you want a real shot at getting a good outcome, you need one. If you’re not going to fight for what’s fair, why go through all this trouble?

We’re ending things on good terms. We have two kids—one is 19 and the other is 14. I’m in the military and had to move to another state. She’s staying with them.

@Owen
Since you’re in the military, have you checked if they can offer any legal help?
