What happens if you violate a court order for visitation?

Hello Folks,

I hope this message finds you well. I have a pressing question regarding the consequences of violating a court order for visitation rights. Without going into specifics, I am concerned about the potential outcomes if someone were to disobey such an order.

Could anyone here provide insights or share experiences related to this issue? What legal repercussions could one face for not complying with a visitation schedule mandated by a court? I would appreciate any information or advice on how to navigate this situation.

Thanks in Advance…

If you break a court’s visitation rules, you could face fines, lose visitation rights, or even be found in contempt of court. The court might change the custody arrangement or make visitation rules stricter. Following court orders is crucial to avoid legal trouble and keep a good relationship with the child and the court.

If you break a parole order, you could face the following legal consequences: Not following the rules. Criminal penalties, like fines or jail time (this normally happens when someone breaks a contact order over and over again).

According to my observations, a lot will rely on how serious the infractions are. Probably enough to find them in contempt would be their unwillingness to enable you to contact them via Facetime, but you should record every attempt and rejection in a journal. To hold them in contempt, your attorney must submit a motion. To find out if that is a wise decision, speak with your attorney. I agree with another poster that you sometimes can’t expect your lawyer to take action on their own after you’ve let them know that something is up for dispute. Instead, you should speak with them directly about your desire to file for contempt so they can advise you on whether and how this will probably proceed.
