How should I handle child support payments that are two weeks late?

Call child support! They’ll explain the delay and help get the money to your child.

While I was reading another Quora answer regarding a child calling his stepfather “dad,” it brought back memories of how unfair the child support laws are to the person who pays child support. If you pay child support, you got screwed by how the law favors the parent who has custody of the child. My two boys are now adults so my story happened a long time ago as I am sure the law has not changed for the better…. Here is my story……
I gave my ex custody of my two boys, it was a bad marriage as the ex would be going out with her girlfriends on nights and also screwing around while I was home taking care of them. Yes, should was working a full-time job and also claiming she was working late. I called her office a few times, and her manager said she left at 5:00 pm; her excuse was she was in the office working late and her manager did not know. What a bunch of crap, it was 8:00 PM when I called…… Anyhow, back to child support….
I was ordered to pay $1800 per month and also pay 90% percent of their education while the ex is responsible for the other 10%. Now how does this make sense? I was paying for everything, but now how is that for fairness? Hmmm, I wonder where the 10% came from? Do you want to hear the kicker? The ex was able to buy a house and a brand new BMW while I can only afford to rent an apartment and drive an old Honda.

You should call the one responsible for paying to try and find out the reason for the late payment. If you can’t get hold of them then you might want to consider taking them to court.

That might be caused by the interest you are paying on the outstanding arrears.
Call child support 
Give it a few days because payments didn’t process Thursday or Friday last week. Chill.
Many people take off work between November and December, particularly government personnel and office workers. Just call the support office and ask.
