Hi all! Can anyone share a format or outline for filing an after-trial appeal? Just need some guidance on how it usually looks.
Hey, are you appealing in a specific state? Sometimes formats can vary by state.

Yeah, I’m in Indiana, but the trial was in Massachusetts. Not sure if that changes things?
@Briley
Oh, then you’d need to follow MA’s appeal process. Have you checked any state-specific resources?
@Briley
Massachusetts has its own set of forms for appeals. I can share a link if that helps!
I had to file an appeal recently. You might want to look at MA’s Appeals Court page for guidelines. They list all the steps and forms there.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out the Appeals Court page.
Anyone know if there’s a specific timeline for filing appeals? I missed mine by a week last time, so just a heads-up to look into deadlines!

Good to know, I’ll double-check the deadlines! Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, each state can be strict with appeal deadlines. Better safe than sorry!
For custody appeals, anyone know if certain factors can improve chances of success?

Things like a significant change in circumstances or evidence of bias might help. But it’s always specific to each case.

Got it, thanks! Might reach out to a lawyer to discuss specifics.
FYI, MA Appeals Court has a FAQ page with common appellate questions, super helpful!
