Hey everyone, I’m in a tough situation and could really use some advice. I have full custody of my child, but I’ve been dealing with a lot of abuse from my child’s father towards both of us. I’m considering filing a Personal Protection Order (PPO) because I just can’t be around him anymore. I don’t want to completely remove him from my child’s life, but I need to know how to handle future visitation and what steps to take. If anyone has experience with this, can you please message me? I have some questions about how to navigate this.
So he’s abused your child but you don’t want to cut him out of the child’s life even though legally you can? Really?

I know it sounds confusing, but I just want to find a way for him to be involved without the abuse. It’s complicated.
Exactly. When you can legally cut them out, you absolutely should. It’s about protecting your child.

I get that, but I’m worried about the impact on my child if I do that. It’s a tough decision.
Communication via attorneys is the only way at this point. You need to protect yourself and your child legally.

I’m thinking about that too. I just want to make sure I handle it the right way.
