Hi all! I was able to seek approval through the courts for therapy for my child. The father has delayed on submitting paperwork claiming he doesn’t ‘have the funds’. My lawyer said she will email his next week if still not done, reminding of the court order. What happens if he really doesn’t have the money for the therapy retainer though? He truly might not have the money as he pretends to be self-employed but I suspect is living off my child support and his mom’s help.
Is the therapy not covered by insurance?
Make sure you’re getting your health insurance on a sliding scale because you’re in California (Covered California), and if you are broke, your child may be eligible for Medi-Cal. There are a number of child therapy centers in California who only take Medi-Cal because they do supervised training of student therapists, but it’s pretty good to get your child help when your child needs it.
Why the down vote? Isn’t a neutral explanation of ways to pay for a child’s therapy when a person cannot afford it on their own a good thing?
Find a therapist that will take your insurance?
Therapy retainer? Don’t you pay per session? I’ve never heard of a therapy retainer.
