How can I get full custody of my son... any advice?

I need help or advice because my partner and I are heading toward a breakup, but he threatens that he’s taking full custody of my son. I don’t find it fair since he works about 10-11 hours a day while I only work 6-7 hours. He’s over 60 hours a week and I am at 35 hours a week. Can I have some advice or information on who gets to have full custody? I live in southern California in the Los Angeles County area. Please help me, I want my son with me and I don’t want other people raising him when I know I have more time in the day and week to be able to raise my son. Thank you.

In California, the courts generally prioritize the best interest of the child. Your work hours might be a factor, but it’s not the only one.

Gather any evidence showing your involvement in your son’s life. This could help your case for custody.

Consider speaking to a family lawyer. They can provide specific advice tailored to your situation and help you navigate custody issues.

Remember that the court also looks at the stability of the home environment. Make sure your living situation is suitable for your son.

If your partner is threatening custody, try to keep communication civil. Document everything as it might be useful later.
