So, I posted a little update about how my ex filed new charges yesterday right when the case was about to close. He claimed physical abuse before, but now he’s alleging sexual abuse. Just to give some context, my daughter was actually sexually assaulted in his home, and there’s an active criminal investigation surrounding that incident. CPS has to investigate this new claim, but they warned me that they need to figure out where to place my daughter by Monday, or she’s going into state care. I really hope her dad admits these allegations are false, but I’m not counting on it. I’m just so scared for her mental and emotional wellbeing, especially since this is the longest we’ve gone without talking. She’s missed therapy appointments and is on track to miss a necessary surgery. Tomorrow, we’re meeting with CPS and the detective to discuss what he’s claiming. At what point does this become parental kidnapping? When will he face abuse charges for putting her through this emotional strain? I feel lost and would really appreciate any advice or just hearing from anyone who has been through something similar.

Yes, I have an attorney. I just feel like I’m stuck while waiting for everything to unfold.

Yeah, but the judge wouldn’t remove visitation since the allegations weren’t directly against him.

You really need to get your lawyer to file something. It seems like he’s just trying to wear you down with these false claims.

I plan to talk to my lawyer tomorrow about filing something. I just feel so trapped.
