Rule 32 joint custody child support question

I’m rereading our divorce complaint and he is citing he doesn’t have to pay child support due to rule 32. I was told he would have to pay child support per rule 32 since he significantly earns more. We are going to do 50/50 joint and physical.

It’s been said already but I’m going to reiterate it again; don’t take legal advice from the other side. In most states, child support is formulaic. They have guidelines based on parenting time and income. That gets out into a calculator that spits a number out.

Was child support determined during the divorce?

The person who makes more almost always pays more even if split custody. It’s to keep the lives at both houses similar. Don’t listen to him.

As others have said: Don’t listen to what he says regarding legal matters. Child support is usually determined by calculator. They will take both your incomes and see how much should be allocated for the kids.

Don’t take legal advice from your opponent. The child support needle is moved more by overnights than income disparities, so 50/50 will have a big impact.
