I won’t real give you the detailed rules for the same because they often vary in different states.
In addition, the court order has specific guidelines for the same therefore you wanna revisit the court order document if it is available to be acquainted with the common guidelines which have been laid out.

Hey, what state are you based in?
You can always look up such guidelines on the internet.
I’m a lawyer in Kansas and here are the guidelines and rules for such visitations

Supervised visitation rules can vary depending on the court order. Visits often happen at designated facilities, courthouses, or sometimes public spaces with a trained supervisor, social worker, or family member present throughout the visit. The court will determine how long and how often visits can take place. During the visit, focus on the child and have fun! It’s always best to double-check the specific guidelines in your court order. If you don’t have a copy, contacting your lawyer or the court directly is a good idea.

When preparing for supervised visitation, one rule that I found particularly challenging was the strict prohibition against any physical contact that might seem excessive or unnecessary. While I understand the importance of ensuring the child’s safety and comfort during these visits, this rule can sometimes feel too restrictive, especially when a child seeks more affectionate contact, like prolonged hugs or sitting on a parent’s lap.

This can be difficult for both the parent and the child, as it limits their ability to express affection naturally and can make the visit feel less genuine. The intent behind the rule is to maintain a safe and neutral environment, but it can inadvertently create a barrier to fostering a warm and loving relationship during these crucial times.

Thanks everyone for your help
